Planetarium at UT Arlington will help scouts earn badges

Planetarium

The Planetarium at UT Arlington is offering a number of Saturday programs in January and February focused on scouting astronomy-related badges. Individuals or troops should contact Marc Rouleau at (817) 272-0822 to reserve space for any of the programs. A minimum of 20 people is required for each session, and the sessions will be capped at 50. Prices will be $15 per scout and $10 per adult. The cost will cover supplies and a number of activities and shows, plus a snack. Participants will also get a special planetarium button.

What is Merit Badge College?
Merit Badge College is organized for all Boy Scouts 11 to 18 years of age. The purpose of Merit Badge College is to help Boy Scouts who may have difficulty in locating Merit Badge Councilors and also to provide a greater opportunity for Scouts to earn required or popular Merit Badges. Instruction is available to the Scout in Three Merit Badges of his choice. Participants will work on each badge for 80 minutes on each of 2 Saturdays.
