Global Youth Service Day 2008

Dear Scout Leaders: Do you know scout troops that do good things for your neighborhood? If so, then tell them about this opportunity to particiapte in Global Youth Service Day (GYSD) and get a $100 mini-grant to help fund their projects. During February we are providing 4 workshops that will make it easy for them to participate in this event. Each workshop will suggest interesting projects, show how to get a $100 mini-grant, explain contests that will honor their group, and point out additional larger grants open to them. Since the first workshop is on Feb. 11th, adult leaders must register the attendees soon!

Please forward this e-mail and attached fact sheet to each youth group in the City of Arlington and encourage them to participate in this GYSD by first attending one of these workshops.

Can you imagine a 100+ different youth groups doing good in your neighborhood on Global Youth Service Day? Help us make that positive statement about our youth. Encourage all service oriented youth groups at yout school, place of worship, or in your community to stand together on that day and celebrate the contributions our youth make to our neighborhoods.

Please call me if you have questions.
